Some of the "To do or not to do - Homework" writing by Room 10

 HOMEWORK OR NO HOMEWORK

yay time to relax wait oh no ive got homework. In my opinion i believe there should be no home work.

my first reason is that primary aged children are already spending six hours at school with more than three quarters of it spent working doing reading, writing and maths just to name a few.

Also there are seven days in a week and i’ve got eleven sports on a week including jump jam, swimming, rugby and many others meaning it’s very hard to find time for homework.

My third reason is that Finland is the HIGHEST !! ranking country in the PISA program ( program for international student assessment ) and guess what they have no home work at all.

Teachers would you prefer to continuously give out and take in homework or spend that precious time having a laugh with your kids ? To end this i would like to tell you that I believe about 1 % of our learning comes from home work what do you think ?

Ahhh, what a relaxing time after school, Dun DunDUUUN! And just at that moment everything is destroyed, because homework is there! Honestly not much people really like homework and I think I know why...
It's because we spend 6 hours in school, five days a week, plus homework, don't you think it's way too much? If we have homework we only have a little bit of time to spend with our family.
Secondly, we could already be very tired to work. Also, if we have too much things to do, it could get very stressful.

If this doesn't convince you, then I think I know what will...studies have shown that in Finland there is a no homework policy for all children under 16 and they Are still the highest performing country in the world!

I promise that if you DO ban homework I won't watch too much TV or keep my eyes staring at the computer screen for hours.

Anyway we can work without homework at home,
like when you bake a cake or cut a pizza you can learn about measurement and fractions!
I hope you agree to BAN HOMEWORK!!!

            homework YES!!
In my opinion I think we should have science, Art, Geometry, baking and robotics homework instead of maths reading and spelling, because we do lots of it at school anyway ,it’s way more fun and were learning new things too.
I believe that we do not do lots of those subjects in school. Baking for example teaches you about fractions and measurement and scavenger hunts help  you with learning North,West,South and East, direction. Board games help you with social skills like taking turns and sharing.Science is  exiting and is very intersing and we only do science on science week.
I believe homework makes you confident for school and helps you with grades and when we don’t have homework some kids don’t even try to practice and that makes school work harder

Homework

Knock knock who's there homework yay what type???

I Think that homework is the right thing to do before we relax because at school were in the learning environment and when i’m home i’m still in the learning environment but I think we should get a choice on what type of homework we get for example we could do art, cooking and science projects.

We don't do much science or projects so we can do some science in the kitchen and fill a chart on what we do. with art we can do some measuring and show the completed art to the class when we're done. finally cooking because we can start follow instructions and we can make our own instructions for our own things

For those reasons I think we should have homework every two weeks.
