Rob McGregor.
Aroha had a wonderful learning opportunity with Rob McGregor this afternoon
He Discussed his paintings and the effect colour has on emotion. We had lots of fantastic learning. He talked about the 'Dry brush technique.
Some children learned about Primary colours red yellow and blue and new vocabulary such as easel, and palette. We learned about tint, which is adding white to make colours pale. He demonstrated using primary colours to make all the colours.
Could Mr McGregor make black ?
Nearly by beginning with blue then red then little bit of yellow. That is how we make back.
Rob uses all the colour from his brush and never wastes any paint, he puts it around the painting to clean off any excess.
The advice he gave us is when painting use a little amount. If you have any left over he puts it else where on his painting.
We learned how to make objects bigger and smaller. To create people further away they get smaller and further up the page.
Rob McGregor likes using acrylic paint the best because it dries quickly and he likes to work fast!!
Light and shadows create shape and inform us where the sunlight is coming from.
New vocabulary.
Original art and copied art.
Horizon created by using light colour on the horizon.
When painting we will never make a mistake, just let it dry and paint over it.!!!
